Vulnerability is a form of exposure. made vulnerable a sx visualities curated project, approaches the term vulnerability with a question: to what is a person, place, or thing made vulnerable?
made vulnerable features photographic, video and audiovisual work by ten artists who take into account what vulnerability yields for their creative practices.
Artists and their collaborators present narratives that convey how vulnerability is experienced and remembered. Their contributions show and tell us how being vulnerable is a sensory experience that is not limited to the eye. It is a process that reveals matters of trust, security, humor, shame, fear, and healing. And, in some cases, it is paradoxically experienced as an empowering sense of anonymity.
The artists include Jacqueline Bishop, Vladimir Cybil Charlier, Annabel Guérédrat and Henri Tauliaut, Jeannette Ehlers, Deborah Jack, Davina Lee, Gamaliel Rodriguez, Aiko Maya Roudette and Romy Scheroder. Each featured work in the online curated project is accompanied by written and audio statements by the contributors. Feel free to watch and listen.
