Caribbean Queer Visualities

"Caribbean Queer Visualities” (CQV) is the third in a series of Small Axe projects supported by the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts. This project eventually materialized in series of exhibitions and the form of a catalogue that features original works by both artists and writers focused on themes of queerness and non-conformity in the Caribbean. At the heart of the project are the two symposiums held in 2014 and 2015. Featuring edited footage from CQV1, hosted at Yale University in November 2014, and CQV2, hosted at Columbia University in April 2015, this gallery captures the openness and sense of critical intimacy that animated the discussions between participants.
